My ESRA Missile takes off with two Estes C11-3 motors.
The May 10th 2008 CMASS launch was held on the Tewksbury, MA field. At times it was very breezy and the wind kept changing its mind which direction to blow. Even though this made recovery difficult, I still managed to launch a total of fourteen rockets, and I did not lose any rockets this time.
Doug Gardei's Flights
Estes MoondogA10-3TMotor retainer blew off and rocket lawn darted.
Estes JinxA10-3TPerfect boost, parachute tangled with itself.
Quest IcarusQuest B6-4Delay smoke went dark just before ejection. Used a single 18” chute. Did not drift to far. Caught it on recovery.
Semroc OSOA8-3Did not go as high as I expected.
Estes Speed FreakB6-4Booster landed in baseball field on other side of tree line and road. Nose cone read Err.
Estes Storm CasterC11-3Flight. Did not drift to far with 18” Chute.
Quest Nike-XB6-4Good Flight!
Estes Der Red MaxB6-4Due to weather cocking, the 4 seconds was to long and got a minor zipper.
Nubular Super TubeAT D15-4TVery long delay, did deploy but to late. Have to order some BT-80 tubing if I don’t have some already.
Hotel ExpressAT F20-4WWas more like a F20-2W, but still a great flight. Good thing I reefed its chute.
ESRA Missile2x C11-3Great flight, but apparently the ejection charge from one of the C11’s caught the upper motor mount on fire. I Will need to replace the mount.
Fliskits FleaA8-3Great boost but streamer ripped off. No damage from landing in the grass.
Semroc Lil' IvanB6-4Estes B6-4 dated 6-13-75. Purple plug would not fit, had to use wadding ball. Perfect Flight.
RTF X-15B6-4Estes B6-4 dated 6-13-75. I must be really tempting fate. The LCO called a heads up flight because I was flying an Outlawed rocket, with a motor Older than me, and I was the one flying it. Fate was on my side because it was a perfect flight.
